View Full Version : O2 Sensor Location
In a single turbo application, is it better to put the O2 sensor before or after the turbo? Or is it normal to run 2 sensors at both locations??

O2 readings will change with pressure, so most people I know will run them after the turbo. I have heard mention of guys running them before the turbo but needing to recalculate the output to account for the backpressure.

The sensor life is abit better in the downpipe as it's not overheated as much. I usually like 12-15" back from the turbine.

Also make sure you have some distance from the O2 to the end of the pipe.
You may get reversion and show lean if the pipe is too short.

I tried about 8" back from the exit and it did not work. I'd say more than 12" as a guess?

I did that at first. Then made the pipe longer.

You may need 18" depend on the exhaust.
