I seemed to have developed a problem with my NOS going on/off for no reason. I have a pro-lite on my tach that lights when the relay for the NOS is activated, this last weekend i was experiencing the system going on/off whenever it felt like it. I have micro switch on the carb, for WOT activation. I'm using the a 30 amp relay to activate the fuel and NOS solenoids via that micro switch. I will replace the relay 1st , not sure about the micro switch. Anyone else ever run across this?

thanks Larry

Are there any other divices wired into the nitrous system? rpm switches, Fuel Pressure switch, ETC? I have never had a relay open and close at random I would check you powers and grounds sounds to me like bad connection some where. check the switch too make sure it's not out of adjustment. just some thing off the top of my head. Do you have a volt gage in the car?hows the voltage during a pass?

i have fuel pressure switch, bypassed that just to see if the trouble went away, it did not. Everything seemed to be working fine until the last time out, i will be going thru all of the wiring and will check to make sure the micro switch is adjusted ok.
thanks for the response ...

More times then not, I have seen a misadjusted throttle switch. Most people will check these at the carb, I would put someone in the car and have them push the gas pedal down and then check the micro switch on the carb. Where is everything grounded? What have you done to the car prior to the last time out?
Sometimes it's best to go over what was last done to the car prior and make sure something didn't get overlooked.
I hope this helps

I did re-wire a few things since the last time out, i most likely created my own problem , i have the fuel pressure switch grounded to the fire wall.

I would recommend a more consistent grounding method, over using various parts of the car for ground. Going back over your tracks may very well lead you to the core of the problem. If you have a schematic, go back over the circuit in the car versus what you have on the schematic, check all connections for loose and/or poor connections.

do you guys run a ground wire to the engine? not just bolt it in but run a wire?
if you have any nos grounds to the engine make a seperate wire to ground engine to chassis..

I use 2 ground straps like they used on older cars.. I believe they may still use them..

I run a single Optima red top in my street car for more advance strip cars I recommend 2 yellow top Optimas,That is if you looking at a 12v system, I also run a ground strap to the engine.
