What works the best without using a transfer pump? I believe there is a siphon tube in the supply tank and they should be filling standing upright correct? Any tips would be great.

if your supply tank has a "dip tube" then yes leave it standing up.
i use a -6 line with a 1/4 turn ss ball valve in the middle of it for a transfer line to the bottle.
i freeze the car bottle with a pressure gauge on it (capped off) with the valve open so i can make sure the pressure drops in the bottle (this is only if the bottle is partially full)
note: the supply bottle is normally at 600 psi ...freezer bottle need to be around 350 psi for a good fill. i have done them with as much as 450psi and it still worked.
after the bottle is removed from the freezer put it on the scale with the suply line attached.
then do the math so you know how much you need the bottle to weight w/ the sullpy line attached.
open the supply bottle and open the car bottle.....then slowly open the 1/4 turn valve and it will start to transfer quikly...i can fill a 10 lb bottle in about 30-40 seconds.
i know it is a little wordy..how ya understand
