My car seems to fit well into the nostalgia pro street catagory, however my fenders have slightly been flared to accomodate my tires. Will this be a problem. What kind of times are the nostalgia pro streeters running these days? Thanks

I dont think it would be a problem if your fenders were flared slightly but lately the cars have been running in the 7.40's and the record in the class is 7.451 at 188.70 mph but they have been 193 mph twice and its by Jeff Colletta. How fast have you been in your car and what kind of car is it. Do you plan on running some races?

Currently I have a 540 with a NOS fogger running a best of 8.56. My current chassis cert is only 8.5 so I will be getting that taken care of this winter. I am also planning on either converting my 540 to blown alchohol or having a 588 built to run in the Nostalgia Pro street class. I really dont want to be running any faster than 7.5 as that is as far as I want to make chassis adjustments. I am thinking I would at least stand a chance in the mid to high sevens.

Well if your going to build a 588 ci then you will have to weigh 3200 pounds so why not just go ahead and ethier build a 530 ci and weigh 3000 pounds or a 632 ci and weigh 3200, it would give you a better chance to run the number you want to run.

Super,
Thanks for the feedback as those are all very good points. My engine builder is very partial to short stroke motors. That comes from his prostock background. I can also use my low deck block which will save me some cash so the 530 sounds feasible. It seems the way the NMCA is going I will have to run low sevens just to be competitive in this class.

Yea they are letting it get out of hand in this class but its good racing. If the rules dont change for next year there will be several cars in the 7.30's. Hope to see you out there next year we like more competition.
