I painted the hood on my car and and wet sanded and buffed it. When it rains and the car is in the sun the water spots dry up and then it leaves little rings where the pater was and it looks like it burns the paint. What causes that? i live in florida..........hot

water spots don't need to be generaly sanded out, just a good buffing will take care of it with a cutting cleaner wax,and then a good carnuba over that to protect the finish.

How about trying some vinegar? Our city water is very hard and leaves white spots and I use vinegar/water to clean the windows. It's the only thing I found to take spots off glass. I haven't tried it on the paint, but I'd imagine it would be safe to use.
I also use some of the paint detail cleaner stuff which takes off hard water spots. it's the spray detail stuff that comes with the magic clay bars. I just use the spray and a micro-fiber rag. Worst case you can use the clay bar, but I certainly wouldn't keep sanding it/buffing it.
