I had a nitrous converter built for my #3800 4-link car.Motor is a 565,TH400 trans,4.30 gear.Car usually 60 ft's in the high 1.2's with the 31W tire.Last couple of times out the car is just blowing the tire away.I checked the converter stall in the pits by engaging the brake and holding the pedal,it holds at 4900 RPM.I never checked it prior so I have no benchmark but this seems high,no?I also lost about 1.5 mph trap speed from 164 to 162.I'm not sure if that's just a result of the 330 times being down,or if the converter is going away some.

That is just too much stall for a dedicated nitrous converter. I would have it checked to see what has gone wrong.
Did the car change in trap rpm at all or just loose mph?

I don't have a Data Logger but it seemed like the rpm going thru the traps were about 300 higher at the lower mph.I don't know if heat would hurt the converter, the starter burned us down in the lights for about 10 seconds, fried the fluid pretty good.Sent the converter back today.

Higher rpm and lower mph is indicating a problem and heat is a killer.
Hopefully they can service the converter and alter the stall for your next time out.
Take care ,Hutch
