I have a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 package. This past weekend I broke the rear axle and need to replace the carrier assembly. I have found that most aftermarket carriers will cost near to the same as the stock replacement carrier but am not sure what would be best to use. I am looking for suggestions as for what brand and style would be suggested. As of right now the car is stock except for 3.73 gears and new tires but do intend next year to put some more power to it. I don't race this car much yet but am hoping to get more involved in the near future. Thank You in advance for you expert opinions.

Save your money and buy a 12 bolt or 9" and be done with it. Even with stock HP you will keep breaking that 10 bolt if you race it at all. Put another used stock carrier in it for now 'till you have $$ for a whole new rear. You can put the strongest carrier and axles in it and STILL keep breaking the gear set. You should be able to find a carrier on LS1Tech.com to get you by for now.

Good luck.
