Last night we put the heads on the short block. The problem I am having is the heads(intake flange side) are sticking over the block by about .200 (leaving a nice triangle gap from the block to the head). Is this normal with a R.R. head? Will I need to make spacers that go on the china wall as I call it to fill the void of the gap that this is leaving me? This is the first time I have delt with this type of head. Any help will be awesome !!!

Normal stuff Mike. Just fill it in with silicone.
You could make yourself some spacers if you had extra time on your hands but I never do.... have extra time, or make spacers :D
Your heads are a raised runner head, but are more raised than a normal raised runner.... so they add material to pick up the intake. This is common on All Pro or Pro Action stuff....
Did you try putting the intake manifold on (no end seals/sealer)? Do the ports and bolt holes line up? I'm just wondering if they machined the intake surface on the heads to the correct height. With the intake in place with the correct thickness gasket, what is the actual vertical clearance between the bottom of the intake and the top of the China wall? You can fill quite a big gap successfully with RTV. I recall that someone does make intake end seal spacers, but I believe they were for a BBC.

I'm going to put the intake on at lunch and see how much room is there, I have the machinest here ready to make spacers if need be. It just looks like a lot of room to fill with silicone. Thanks for your imput Chris, I knew if any would have the answer it would be you.

I would allow up to around a 1/4" of gap more than that you should make yourself some spacers... fasten them to the block if you want to get rid fo the triangles, or fasten/weld them to the intake(you'll still then have triangle gaps)

The intake should fit fine, it was all mocked up for porting before hand.

Yeah its going to be more then that i'm pretty sure. I am going to tap the china wall and counter sink the spacers so we can get rid of those triangle gaps. Thanks for the help guys !!!

A lot of heads are like this now. The Victor series heads for Fords actually come wtih spacers if IIRC those heads stick over the block .3-.400" to pick the intake way up...

Can you use a std style msd disi with a victor 2926 or do I need a slip collar style??

With the intake picked up like that you will need a slip collar.

My Brodix 18x are like this, I might make some spacers too, the silicone is so thick you have to put in in stages so it will dry right
