just laying things out on the car.
trunk mounted FP, wich is the better wiring configuration:
1. relay in the trunck close to the FP.
or
2. relay under the dash and a pigtail running back to the FP.
thank you

Since I assume the batteries are already in the trunk, put the relay next to the pump/battery. This keeps your "high current" wires short and the only wire needed to run from the front is your "low current" trigger wire from the switch. Don't forget to properly fuse the power feed in the trunk.

yes batteries are also in the trunk.
thanks for the tips.

I am making a little bracket in the trunk for all my 'rear' electrical components (fuel pump, intercooler water pump, etc) for two reasons:
1) like mentioned above, it keeps the higher current circuits short and
2) it makes trouble-shooting easier since you have 'hubs' of where your electrical stuff is and don't have to be looking all over for where you put that damn relay.
G'luck!

I would recommend mounting the relays in the trunk. It’s easier to run one trigger wire forward, to a switch. Then to run big wires to support a fuel pump from the dash area all the way back to the trunk area.
Make sure you run the battery source for your relays to the on/off switch, car side, not battery side. If by chance a relay fails, the fuel pump and/or component you are driving with a relay, is not stuck on. Whenever the On/Off switch is shut off, everything in the car should be powered off. Nothing should ever be connected directly to battery in a racecar, except for battery charger lugs/post and maybe an alternator.
Mounting some sort of bracket (Like LTLHOMER suggested) makes good sense too. Only one place to look if you encounter problems.
