Is the only difference between the two that the Blackhawk is SA and the Redhawk is DA?

Yes, but they are still very different guns. SA's you can only load one bullet at a time, while DA's you can "break open" the cylinder and reload all (usually 6) the rounds at once with a speed loader. Even the shooting style is different between the guns.

Thanks Mike. I didn't realise there was that much difference between the 2. I have a .357 Redhawk now that I always shoot like a SA. I have never really liked shooting DA but I do like being able to load all 6 rounds at once.
