Went and bought a new super redhawk 44 mag yesterday, hell of a deal for $675 comes with scope rings included. Got tired of my smith sigma 40 having flyer everywhere, you could lock it in a vice and never hit close to the same thing twice. I'll post a pic of it later, gotta go renew my permit before I pick it up. Was gonna get a 460 S&W but at $39 for 20 rounds thats to spendy. ammo for my 500 is already $60 for 20 rounds.

You have a .500 S&W? AWESOME!

They have one for rent at the range, and that thing scares me. LOL

Good move getting rid of the Stigma. Ruger makes a damn fine 6 shooter (both the Redhawks and the SA Blackhawks). Did you consider getting the .480 cal? What length barrel?? Post a pic or 3.;)

Post a pic or 3.;)Thanks for getting me thinking!! I changed the order to a 454 casull and the target gray finish, I can always shoot 45 long colts to save on ammo cost. Thanks again!!!

Damn you Kelly!! I'm going to have to go to the gun store and fondle one now...Honest to God Mike, this is one of the sweetest shooting guns I've ever owned !!!! I shot two cylinders just to get a feel for it, the next one I had 4 shots you could cover with a silver dollar at 50' with open sights the other 2 shots were within 6" which was just me and my piss poor eyesight. I love it so much my .500 smith is gone, a guy at the range wanted to shoot it, he liked it and wanted to buy it, so its gone. It does have a we bit of recoil, but i've shot 300+ grain hot 44s so I was pretty use to it. God what a sweet weapon !!! check one out, I got mune from gander mountain for $719. Bought a hogue grip off ebay for it to help a little with recoil but it showed up with a factory rubber grip virtually identical to a hogue which works perfect. I also got the target gray finish, It is a menacing looking weapon !!! I love it !!!!

Back in 2002 when the .480 first came out I was cutting timber in Sitka Alaska and I bought one of the first .480's as we all had carry guns because the brownies were so thick and agressive.

It was ok but I much rather prefer the .454 casull to it.

I'm curious as to how the .460 shoots compared to the .480

I'm curious as to how the .460 shoots compared to the .480I have been told you can hold dead on at 200 yards with the 460 and it is right on, dont know if I believe it, thats a long shot with a handgun for your average joe. The 480 isnt even close to a 460 !! 460 is 2300 ft sec vs 1300 for the 480. I was told smith was having issues with throat erosion due to the excess powder in the 460 loads.
