I have a trunk-mounted battery with the starter cable running through the interior of the vehicle. I am considering using a thru-panel or bulkhead battery cable connector to avoid having to run the cable through a grommeted hole on the firewall. This seems to be a much more clean method. Anyone else have experience with these connectors? Would they affect system peformance?

I use a Moroso bulkhead stud. Works fine. I also have my remote starter solenoid in the trunk, so my cable (runs thru the car's interior) is ONLY hot when my finger is on the button cranking.

Intresting, so how do you power up the rest of the accessories that need a constant power source?

I use an ARC switch/relay setup to power all consumers.
