OK, i dont have the time right now to get the car on a chassis dyno so I can get it tuned in, anyone have a similair motor or no someone who does that can give me a baseline of where to put my jetting and timing, and what I can do to get a better time?
350 -.040 over with 12-1 compression, weiand team g intake, Pro Systems Carb, Comp Cam mechanical cam .525 lift 248 duration @.050 110 lobe seperation, Cast 305 2.02heads with valve job and ported to intake TH350 with transgo shift kit and 3500 stall, 10 bolt 3.73 with M/T ET radials
here was a this years testing best thus far:
r/t .094
60 ft. 1.834
330 ft. 5.199
660 ft. 8.033
660 mph 86.62
1320 ft e/t 12.592
mph 107.24
jetting was 80/90 with 34 degrees timing
Ive done about 12 runs and this was the best I could get, but im very new to this so im sorta lost on direction and i feel like for every step I take forward I go back 2 on the next run.

The closer you get the timing to 40 degrees the better jetting leave it where Patrick had it

I agree, that is going to want more timing. Also your 60' seems soft is it spinning or just not coming off the line well.

I put everything back to the way patrick sent it. when I first got it, and now I can here it suck the air when I floor it, when I had it jetted rich off the chart he sent me i couldnt, does that mean anything?
ill bump the timing and make sure I have proper fuel pressure at W.O.T and see how I run at Great Lakes next week. Hopefully better then last race, qualified second and lost in the first round by a bumper, I had him on times but was running heads up indexed and he nosed by me at the end. thinking about a small small nos kit situations, 35 or 50 hp, little sneaky pete or something.
Also I run 110 Sunoco, in case that helps at all. should I go to 116?

it doesnt spin, i think i have to much preload in the suspension with the cal tracs, I need to get a pinion angle finder and set the angle, I beleive it is having an adverse effect on the 60'. where about should the suspension angle be on that, I read somewhere -2 degrees is that about right?

I think general is about -3

What tire do you run? what is the tire pressure? I agree about the timing should be 38 degrees thats really not bad for the first time out. What 305 heads are you running?

I run a 275/40 17 M/T, Street Radial 30 psi, and the heads are some 305 heads that i picked up cheap that had 202 valves stuffed in them, had a valve angle job done and were ported and polished to match my team g. IM looking at a set of AFR real soon

ok i just went out and upped the timing to 38 and adjusted the a/f screws till i got the highest reading on my vacuumn gauge, incedently was 1 turn out, which is what it was sent to me at, I had opened them up to 1.5 turns at one point and i beleive thats when my runs really went down hill. so we'll see what happens this weekend. i think im gonna loosen my cal tracs a bit to and see if it helps my 60 ft, i think there to tight. any recomendation on how they should be set?

You could ask Powski in the stock suspension forum.

is that an et street radial? if it is I'd start out at 18psi and work my way down 1/2psi at a time until the 60fts go up then go back if there regular street tires try 22psi and go from there one word of advice dont change more than one thing at a time you will not know what worked and why keep notes too. hope this helps.......Glenn

their drag radials, but I was always taught to keep the highest psi in all 4 tires to reduce the amount of rolling friction caused by the tire, If im not spinning off the line and I deacrease my tire pressure from 30 to 18 that will give the tire a wider footprint and cause more rolling friction and actually slow me down. please correct me if im wrong.
