Largest valve size on 4.030 bore

Hey Guys, We are possibley putting together a 383 SBC, and are looking to buy AFR 227 heads. The valve size is 2.10 intake and I'm wondering how much valve you can stuff into a 4.030 bore?? These heads have the 60/40 spacing and a 1.60 exhaust valve. Thanks Fellas

52% of the bore equals a 2.096 valve. you will be OK as long as the valve spacing is right. A Ford TFS high port has excellent spacing, not sure if it is 60/40 like that AFR227 SBC head...

2.100 will work.. IIRC, i believe you would want the absolute largest to be 2.125 and 1.65..

51 to 52 percent of your bore size on a wedge head... it's a little subjective as it does not take into account valve positions both X and Y.... I'd probably error on the small side.
