How much ammo do you keep on hand?

How much ammo do you guys keep on hand? I've noticed that ever since I got a second safe for ammo, I've had the urge to fill it up.

I keep about 200 9mm FMJ rounds, and 100 9mm JHP rounds in the safe, and 50 JHP rounds for the .38. Sometimes there is more, if I'm planning a trip to the range (I shoot 200-300 rounds a week, on average), but never less.

I'm not preparing for the apocolypse or anything, but I kind of got the feeling from one of my roommates that he thought it was a lot of ammo to keep on hand.

I have 1/2 a box of .22 left from our last trip to the desert & my 2 boxes of hydro shocks for my .45. thats about all I keep on hand @ any time. I typically buy my ammo @ the range when I go there. I dont have much room to stockpile stuff which is probably good, because I would probably pack rat everything I could.

Since i have a 22 gun safe (doubles as jewelry and important document storage with room left over) i have plenty of room for ammo storage. I buy .223 and .308 surplus rounds in 1000 round cases, and try to keep 10 boxes of .45acp handy...
catching sales etc makes it easier to drop everything and go to the range when you don't have to think about extra costs.

I don't keep a whole lot myself. A box each for the .380 and .357. Also keep a box of #2 Goose shot and 00 for the 12 ga and a box of 30-06.

i reload and have the stuff to make thuosand of rounds. i only have about 20000 rounds built but i live on 80 acres and shoot just about every day. like o.c said you can never have to much.

I like to keep about 6 kegs of powder and 100# of .69 Cal on hand. If I ever finish the six pounder I'll go bankrupt in a hurry.

Probably 200 rounds of .380 (never gets used), 1000 rounds of .223, 5000 rounds of .22, but I had a case of it left over as I shot international style 3 position smallbore competition for 9 years.

LETS DO IT!! lol i have in upwards of 1000 7.62x39 rounds. 600rounds of .35 a military morter box full of 12g buckshot, a little less then 800 12g slugs and 200rounds of head shot (.22)
im gonnna have to start collecting some .223 because im getting that s&w m&p 15 tactical with the flattop rail all the waydown it:smt070

I got alot...probably way to much but at one point I had an opportunity to buy some bulk...and did...around 5K rounds of 7.62x39...another 5K of 9mm...around 500 rounds of 30-06...500 or so rounds of 22LR...boxes and boxes of 12 gauge trap rounds...maybe 300 loads...various 12 gauge slug manifestations...I did alot of work getting my rifled barrel 870 very very accurate and it took several rounds to find the sweet load (Remington Copper Solid 2 3/4)

i have reloading equipment so when i'm bored i reload. i have 30 thousand rounds done and can double that in a week or so. i shot right out my back door so i go through alot. i have a glock with atleast 20 thousand round through it model 22.
