Carl came out to the range with me on Wednesday and helped me with some accellerated-fire drills, and then came out to the IDPA match ass-early on Sunday Morning for moral support!
I did well, except for one 1/4" flier on the bomber's head (On this stage, the center mass was replaced with a balloon that represented an explosive device. pop it and you are DQ'ed) that got me dinged with a -5 penalty. I felt it, but was so stuck in my gameplan that I didn't take an extra shot to make sure. Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks again Carl!!!

Congrats Greg - sounds like it was a lot of fun. One of these days I'd like to try out an IDPA type match myself.
Congrats Carl. X2 on the study habits. Given your experience, training and background, I'm sure you'll do just fine - just try not to teach the instructor. :p

The IDPA thing was very interesting to say the least, very good course of fire. I wasn't to crazy about the shooting through the barrel thingy, but it added some flavor.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate the well wishes. I am going to go there with a totally open mind. I wish I could get away with not talking about my experience in the military but I know that ain't happening. LOL :-D Will be hard to be one of the guys when you are 40 years(age I will be when the academy starts)old.
