When it is dark out use open sights. You can get glow in the dark paint too and dab it on the backside of the sights. Makes sighting preety simply. If it is really dark take your index finger and put it along the barrel. With paractice you can just point with one hand and shoot. Seems if you follow your finger when it is pointing sat something it is very, very accurate.

For a 22LR; this setup would work, but regardless of the setup the longer the barrel, the better.

Also, a 10" Ruger MkII with a Weaver scope base and the same "Aimpoint" style sight would work equally as well.
