When do you need to step up to a 10" rim. When running 10's or 9's? Just kinda curious when a 10" rim is needed.

I ran that exact tire some years ago on an 8.5" rim. At the time the car was a low 11 second car. The tire hooked fine, but the tread was bowed from the beads being pulled in. You could see on the tread surface the outer edges were not making as good of contact as the middle.
You can certainly run the 8" rim, but a 10" would give a flatter contact patch for sure.
Pretty much up to you really.

I'm shooting for mid/high tens on the motor and 9's on the spray. Already have 15x8's. Maybe I'll try them and see what happens.
I have 15x8, and wish I had 15x10. Even with a stiff sidewall 10.5, it's still squeamish on the top end.

Maybe if I come across a set of 15x10 prostars I'll pick them up.

I ran mine with a 15x9 HoleShot and it had a pretty good wear pattern, even with a stick.

I had a 26x10 on my 8in rims. I then switched to a 10in rim. Same tire. Car was 100 times more stable on the big end. I too noticed the wear in the center on the 8 inchers. Car still 60' 1.31 on the smaller rim. The stability is what I noticed. Granted I am not as fast as most on here but I noticed a huge difference with the 5.80's my car runs. I could only imagine the problem would be worse on a faster car.

Well problem solved-just picked up a set of 15x10's. :)
