Well fellas I guess there is a guy on another message board stating that he has an insider and VP has defective fuel out there. First, I have no knowledge of this. Second the guy mentioned "VP C25 Nitrous" as a defective fuel. Hell yeah it's defective, we don't even make it. It's not a real fuel. I talked to our tech guy and there was some concern over C25 early in the season. It was found out that tuning issues caused the problems. The formula hasn't changed. If it was defective don't you think that there would be racers blowing up all over. I would like to know this guys insider in a "fuel factory". I will swear on my life that none of this is true to my knowledge. I belive it is just a racer that is pissed and since VP is more expensive than other brands, he is targeting us and slandering us. I assure you that the fuel you have is up to our high standards. Before a batch is drummed in texas, our chemist pulls a sample and runs it through the GC and makes sure it is up to spec. Remember, don't belive everything you hear. Rumors are a nasty thing and 99 % of the time not true. IF this were true, then VP would make it right with the racers. Here's a story. Usually when a racer doesn't pass tech at an NHRA event the first thing they blame is the fuel. Well, then you have to look at the handling of the fuel. Did the can have pump gas in it before?, Did your cell have a different brand of fuel in it before?, Did you let the fuel sit in the cell for a week or two? All of this will make fuel test bad. It's just easier to blame the fuel company. Also this guy mentioned C44 as a bad fuel. Guys, we sell maybe 25 drums of this fuel a year company wide. It is like 2500 a drum. so I don't know how this fuel is being singled out. C16. We have personally sold 4 to 6 truck loads of C16 in the last 6 weeks. If it was bad, I'm sure I'd have a few phone calls. I've had none. Oh and the C23 fuels. Ask BG if he blew up his engine at Valdosta when he was testing. I will happily run my C16 this weekend in Kentucky without worry. Remember VP has been around for over 30 years making the best racing fuel in the world. This is just a cheap shot from an internet tuff guy. Thanks for listening. Call me anytime!

I'm not worried about it. If you're coming to Hardinsburg in May, let me know. I'm about ready for that next drum of C16.

Hi Jason, my name is Gary. I'm out on Long Island and I've been calling VP to try to get an answer to a specific question about an incident I became involved in a few months ago. It was a unit that had been run on the dyno using C-12 (if I remember correctly) and actually had to do a tear-down about 1 month later while it was still on the customer's stand, before it was installed in his car.
I would really rather speak with you "behind-the-scenes" here first, IF you are "connected" to VP?
Just get back to me here and let me know if I would be able to contact you personally at that number above. I had much add'l labor involved with this customer's unit due directly to the use of the "VP" fuel, no question in mind about that, BUT, it may have been avoidable, just not sure.
I got a "tip" from a friend of mine on one of the "Pro-Stock" teams and he explained it was the fuel! What he passed along to me made sense AND "fit-the-pattern" with the issue. Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. If it would be easier you can e-mail me @ "Theengineshop@aol.com"
