View Full Version : Best VP Fuel for All Motor Combo?

Jason,
Here's my combo :
440 cubic inch sbc
18 degree GM heads with 35cc chambers
(2) 850cfm carbs with sheet metal manifold
16:1 compression
9000+ RPM, 1000+ hp
5 speed clutchless trans
I'm currently using C25 for my naturally aspirated combination. I would like to bump the compression ratio to 17+. No class restrictions on fuel. Oxygenated fuel is ok.
What would be the best fuel for this combo in a drag racing application? I'm not concerned about the cost of the fuel.
Thanks for your help.

Right now the best fuel that I have would be the C-DRT. It will have enough octane that you shouldn't have detonation issues and it is oxygenated. I belive we are working on a new fuel, but it may not be out for a couple of months that may be better. Until then, I would recommend the DRT. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jason

Thanks Jason.
By the way, what is the going price of a 30 gallon drum of the DRT fuel? Also, what's the current price for a 30 gallon drum of C25? Thanks

The 8.26 was run at 2825 pounds in 1320 feet of air. That run was made with (1) 850 cfm carburetor. I also run on 10.5Ws.
In 2007, I'll be running at 2750#s with 2 carbs and a better cam. I'm hoping to get the car down into the 7s.

Al,
Right now the current Retail price for a 30 of DRT is 525.90 plus tax and shipping. A 30 of C25 is 600.00 plus tax and shipping. If you get in touch with your local dealer, I'm sure they can make you a better deal. I can only give out Retail prices to the public.
Thanks,
Jason

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one crazy enough to try to run this fast with this combo. I'd like to learn more about Joe's car. Who did his chassis? Pro Car? Are there any articles on the web about his car? Also, are the results of the OSCA race posted anywhere? The OSCA web site is down.
I'm racing at a Super Street race at Byron this weekend. If I don't run faster than 8.14, I'll change my sig.
