7-8 round burst so it will not jam. To many people get caught up thinking 3-4 round burst. All that does is cause jamming. A machine gun works off momentum.

Yeah, that you will find that it not's nearly as cool as what TV makes it appears to be.
If they have a Thompson, skip anything else as it'a 12 on the wow factor. The badest subgun that I ever fired was a Thompson with a 100 rd drum, suppressed.

7.62 GPMG for me, every fourth round a tracer. Only thing I can say is the first time is squeeze the trigger and dont let go. Go through $300 or $400 worth of ammo as fast as you can, it will save you a ton in the long run. Get it all out of your system at once, LOL

Advice, bring PLENTY of ammo. You'll be pissed when your out. My favorites for sub, Thompson-1928 A-2 and PPSH41. The big stuff, BAR and MG42. The Russian SVT (7.62X59R), one round was enough, wont do that again.

I fired off 250 rounds of 9mm ammo today thru a Uzi.. I gotta say it was pretty boring and glad I only got 250 rounds. It was not what I thought it would be.. Maybe my over excitement killed the buzz.. Who knows but Im glad I shot one.. Just wish is was more than it was on the thrill scale..

Man you need something with a ribbon attached to it, tracers, and something thick enough to cut down. Go through 1500 rounds, swap barrells and do another 1500, again and agian and again. Uzi's will seem like water pistols afterwards.

A Uzi is. My church youth group does paintball all the time. It is a blast, I picked up a tippmann and had it tweaked. Will let go 200 rounds in 10 seconds. Laying down huge cover fire for my team and the opposite team is screwed as my range is about 2x theirs. LOL I think it is far as I am 40 and they are 20 so they can run and jump better than me.
An Uzi isnt a machine gun to me, just an automatic weapon. If you fired a real machine gun you would still be walking around with a tent in your pants.

Carl,
Isn't there a Carbine version of the Uzi with a fixed wooden stock? I had a buddy in Florida that was a retired Gunny that had one full auto (he had a FFL) that I thought was an Uzi but doesn't look like either one of those. I never shot it but saw him shoot it a couple of times. I was impressed with the accuracy and the ability to stay on target with 10-12 round bursts. My buddy was pretty good size and worked out every day so that maybe why. I was expecting the "Hollywood" version when he let loose with it the first time, was disapointed and impressed at the same time...

This one.. If you scroll to the bottom where they show two next to each other.. The one on your right looks more like it.. Im not sure if the stock folded or not.. If I was more impressed with it.. I would have taken a closer look at it.. But it looked a lot like that one...

Most sub-machineguns are shot in 3-4 round burst. Hollywood has done such a terrible job of really showing what real marksmanship is. But what get's the great reviews is the gunfight's where 1000 rounds are shot and only 3 guys die. One of the reasons Seagal isn't famous any more. His movie Executive Decision was a great movie and displayed some pretty good tactics in it especially the opening assault.

Notice every 4th round is a tracer. see hoe they richocette in differnet directions after hitting the target.
Here is one with a barrel change:

But we used to wait until the barrel was red before swapping them.

& THIS........... the baddest Gatlin gun in the world.
The gun subsystem employs a gatling gun consisting of a rotating cluster of six barrels. The gatling gun fires a 20mm subcaliber sabot projectile using a heavy-metal (either tungsten or depleted uranium) 15mm penetrator surrounded by a plastic sabot and a light-weight metal pusher. The gatling gun fires 20mm ammunition at either 3,000 or 4,500 rounds-per-minute with a burst length of continuous, 60, or 100 rounds.

They are not really loud, they vibrate a whole lot, I mean the entire ship vibrates when they test them at sea.

About 1/2 as large as Dora's single gun, but a bunch more together:

I would like to see you guys pick one of those guns up and hump 30 miles with it. LOL. Sometimes those big things arent all they are cracked up to be. In the Falkan Islands after action report, one of the big things discussed was the effectiveness of the C6 versus tow missles in combating enemy aircraft. Seems the C6 took out 3 times as many planes as the tow missles did.
When I see those huge bores on those big guns, all I think of is how many rounds I could pump down the barrel and what the gun would look like when they tried to fire it afterwards.
That gattling gun though is pretty kick butt. Wouldnt want to be in front of it that is for sure. I thought its primary purpose was missle defence.

@ 3000 Rd/Min, thats 50 rounds every second. we had one right outside & up one deck from my shop (I was on an aircraft carrier). when they cut that animal loose, everything in the shop would shake & your ears would ring. it was a LOT louder than I thought it would be. of the 4 years I was on that ship, we fired it twice, once during sea trials & once again during training.

Ray,
you dont need to hump a gun that big 30 miles, you just sit off shore & shoot several 71 Monty Carlo's that 30 mile distance & you sit back with your coffee & cheap porno video's. LOL.

RAPS will put a 16" shell about 75 miles out. The shell has about 2,000# of explosives in it.
TOWs are anti-tank weapons, not great for airplanes.
O.C White
04-12-2007, 01:20 PM
Thank you Taxman for pointing that out. Anybody that would shoot a TOW at an aircraft can't be to bright. Especially since you must hold the target in your site for a TOW to be effective. I can't imagine trying to hold fighter or even a cargo plane in your site long enough for a TOW to hit it.

According to a few quick calculations, for an M61 Vulcan firing 6000 rounds per minute, there will be 34.5 feet between each bullet fired in a burst.
