I federal hydra shok in the .357.
here's what i been noticing about break ins that's been occuring recently, the perpetrator(s) are getting quite brave and don't wait now for you and your family to leave the house they come ring the door bell or knock on the door and wait for someone to slip up and open the door so they can rush in.
breaking the glass or kicking in the doors cause to much noise and it too more dangerous for them, so they think.
in that case it's where i'm or my wife is at during that time. if i'm upstairs and about to retire for the night, and i hear the door bell or a knock on the door at night, i alway go the the door with my .357. ALWAYS! the .357 is upstairs.
no one comes to my house unannounced without calling me first.
same thing goes if i'm downstairs watching tv or in the kitchen and i hear someone at the door, i go and get my .45 and see who it is. the .45 is downstairs.
now if they get foolish and try to kick open the door or break a window, then i get the mossberge tactical shootgun and its on!

lol, ditto and a 12GA crowd pleaser.....
Anyone try the Golden Saber ammunition from Remington? Any thoughts? Just curious, thanks.I've heard under certain circumstances they have a jacket seperation issue. Other than that, they're supposed to be really good self defense bullet (expands nicely and makes a nice wound channel). They make a law enforcement variation that uses a bonded core that eliminates this condition, but it's not available to civilians.
I've retrieved many bullets from deer I've shot over the years with a pistol (44 mag). I've experienced jacket seperation issues with Hornady's highly regarded XTP bullet, and therefore don't use it that much anymore. I've had lots of good results so far with the Barnes leadfree HP design, which expand nicely and almost always retain 100% of their weight.
I'm currently using 175 gr. Winchester silvertip hollowpoints in my 10mm (factory load). I'm all for using a premium HP bullet.

now I love my USP45
+P may be alittle excesive, for a home round especially if you miss. That is if you have to worry abou going through interior walls with other family members in the house.
I am just partial to my 870 with 00 buck for home defense, good coverage:smt068
and the distinctive sound of the action lets the intruder know they might have picked the wrong phucking house:smt066
