we had SO much fun out in the desert shooting my $20 K-Mart .22 bolt action that I would like to get another one.
what I would like is a Semi Auto Rifle, Magazine fed, .22, with the ability to put a scope on it. Maybe something that I can buy parts for. In other words customizable by a guy thats not a gunsmith. Other than that, I dont have many preferences. I would like it to be accurate & good quality, & dont mind spending a few bucks for it, but am not looking for a $1000 tact/targ masterpiece.
thanks guys.

Oh & I think I want to stick with .22 LR, so it shoots the same as this other one.
thanks

ruger 10/22 is your best bet..you can buy tons of accessories for them and clips up to 50rounds.they offered in stainless as well for under 300.i have seen the bull barrel versions that were under 500.

And you can get all sorts of "body kits" for them, too. Paul has the MG-34 kit on his, and CTD sells an AK-74 kit for them... I believe it's called the Krinker Plinker.

You can't beat that Ruger. FFL= Fedral Firearms License.

Bob.... might look at the Marlin Model 60 series. Its a tubular magazine rifle and holds 14 shells(I know its not what your looking for BUT). I have had one for almost 20 years and I still think its one of my best shooting guns!!

While the Rugers are without a doubt more popular and a great gun, I've had a scoped Marlin 60 (17 shot) for close to 30 years and it still shoots great. I'm surprised the barrel has any rifling left after all the rounds that have gone through it.

HA funny seeing you here.
So your a gun nut too I see
Yup go for the rugger, Im going to pick one up at the end of april or mid may. You can even get a nice 50 round clip for it too, unforunatly illegal up here, unless its plugged. If Im not mistaken the s/s barrel only comes in a plastic stock.

I also have a marlin model 60...good little gun. Accurate and dependable. The ruger 10/22 is still the best buy though.

I agree thr Ruger 10/22 is a great gun. But, why would anyone ever buy another .22 when the .17HMR is available. Hands down a far better gun than any .22 . Might want to look into a .17 if you are not famailiar with them.

the main reason I was looking for another .22 is that I already have one.
