Finally, a politition I can support. I have always said, give the people a guy that can represnent THEM and they will get out and vote.
Oscar Goodman is that man. He won re-election as the Mayor of Las Vegas again, for his third consecutive term, with 84% of the vote. Since he was first elected in 1999, Goodman has cultivated a popular and irreverent persona. He travels with a pair of show girls and publically endorses Bombay Sapphire gin, and has taught a class on martini making at a local community college.
This is a man I can trust. Look out Hillary, Obama, Romney and all the rest of those lying, cheating, contemptable assholes.
And how about his campaign slogan? With a glass of gin in one hand and his other hand on the ass of a show girl, "Bottoms up".

Finally, someone who could actually get me interested in politics. I'm sick of politicians in general, and have ever decreasing respect for both major political parties. Now if I could go to a strip joint, have a few rounds, enjoy some T&A, and consider it doing my civic duty, I'm in.
My Dad told me, "Most politicians begin their careers as lawyers. Half of all lawyers graduated in the bottom half of their class. Do the math."

LoL, there's a difference? It's Vegas mob vs. Houston mob. Oh wait, I moved to TX, I guess I better rethink that. http://smilies.vidahost.com/otn/ez/ezpi_biglaugh.gif
Ok, I thought about it, and it's the T&A I like.

Yes, you are right. Goodman was at one time a mob lawyer. But so what? The mob is just another political party in my opinion, and probably better organized and more honest.

You sound like one of the Kool Aid drinkers now, supporting "your party" regardless of their past. Kind of like saying things like Cheney not serving in the military or Bush only in the National Guard that you have brought up against the die hard Repubs on here. And their response is it dont matter. Now your singing the same tune.

I look at "die hard Republicans" the same way I look at "die hard Democrats". Both are ignorant of reality and are brain washed idiots. These are the same mental midgets that "vote the party line" regardless.
Now, having explained that to you, what does you post above have to do with "my party" or Bush and Cheney's military (or lack of) records? And what "tune" am I singing?

You are always chastising the die hards about Bush and Cheneys military service and oil connections, saying it matters, yet you give this guy a pass on his mob connections. I see some hypocracy here.

Somehow, I must be missing the point here nos351. What does one thing have to do with the other? Are you implying that a "mob connetion" is a bad thing? Are you implying that "evading military service" during Vietnam is a good thing? Goodman was a lawyer. Most polititions are lawyers. If you are asking me which lawyers are more honest (now there's an oxymoron) I would have to guess that a mob lawyer is, any day of the week. With a mob lawyer, everythiing is up front, what you see is what you get. They are hired and get paid by the people they represent. A politition gets paid by the people they represent too, but they are hired (elected) by people that they DON'T represent.

So mob corruption is ok and oil companies corrupt is not? Graft is Graft and corruption is corruption regardless of the ones involved. The T&A just make it more bare-able I presume, pun intended.

Who me, never. Lets just say they are "advantageous of circumstances" or in the words of the mob "Nothing personal. Its just business".

So there you are. As you say, both the oil companies and the mob are "the mob", and you can lump the polititions in there too.
To me the big difference between the mob and the polititions is that the mob looks out for the mob and makes no denial about it, whereas the polititons say that they are looking out for me, and are lying about it right to my face.

One big difference, the oil companies wont make me swim with the fishes if I dont buy their high priced product.
