I'm a patriot. I'm an authority. I know this, I know that, bla bla bla.....

All these nations around us who hate us, while we help them are laughing all the way to the bank. Including Iran, Russia, Syria, China, N. Korea, France, Germany, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc..........

Why? Because we all parade how patriotic we are, how smart we are, all the while we give all these folks our money, goods, services. Then we say again how smart and great we are. And we give them more.

This nation is FINISHED. FINITO. There is no longer a foundation to hold it up. Just a bunch of different ethnics, all divided, coming to a boiling point here.

Ya'll can't live in the same space completely divided on core values.

It's good entertainment though.

Jokes on them, they are getting paid in fiat money. This nation finished? I dont think so, last time I looked it had the greatest GDP of any nation. Values no doubt are declining at a fast pace. However greed is the base for American society success and until there is a perception that each is not getting their fair share everything will keep running like clockwork.

Guess you learned something today. Think of the top nations of the world, now go look at how they are ranked in GDP. If a person cant feed their family, not much else matters including any value system. Why do you think people are trying to get into this nation? Because of our values, hardly.

Quality of life in general is on the decline.

The food is getting worse by the day. Just glamorized chemicals.

People are getting more lazy, out of shape and fat.

The clothing people wear today is glamorized 3rd world clothing(expensive 3rd world)

People don't appreciate what they have in terms of what they own... folks treat their cars like crap.

Roads are crap. Gov't is crap.

Oh how great we are though.

Hey Chris, I have a question and I'm not trying to start trouble, I really have a problem with this at times. This is a line of thought that I get into many times. So I think I agree with you to a degree. But there are parts that worry me.

Should we help other countries? Even those that speak ill of us, or flat out don't like us?
This is my problem. At times I feel as you do. But as with many problems, I seek guidance elsewhere. I consider the Surmon on the Mount to be a pretty good guidebook for most things. I believe it's around Mathew 5-7?
Is there a limit to our help?
Blessed are the meek, the merciful, the peacemakers.
Give him who begs from you.
Paraphrase: Turn the other cheek.

I am curious where do you think we draw the line? I definately agree, I don't like where the country is going. But I have to admit, I get stumped.

I forget where it is at.
Take care of your own house, or your worse than an unbeliever.

Sorry, I should have more examples, but I was up late and got up early, and class is getting ready to start.

Ya'll have been brainwashed to compare yourselves to the world around you.

Is that the best that you want for yourselves, or your children? Is a simple comparison to the garbage around the world?

Isn't that what our idiot leaders are doing? Comparing our laws and freedoms to what is around the world?

Why would we want to have relative comparisons to what is legal, or what is good or bad in a country such as China or France?

We should be holding ourselves to a higher standard than the rest of the world. And it should be expected, not compared, that we keep trying to be better and better when it comes to standards of living, technology, education, food, etc...

It's not saying much that we have better roads than Romania. I don't care what is in Romania.

The problem is no matter what you do there will be fat lazy clowns that take a free ride, don't matter what kind of government or social system. The more charitable the system is the more lazy people there will be. Most people only work hard enough to sustain their lifestyle, so if they are a welfare bum thats all they will do, If they work minimum wage they are stuck there, middle class laborers are stuck there and the poor rich folk are stuck with the money.
The great thing about the USA is that you work to change what you do not like. If you do not like lazy people do something about it, besides bitching on the net. If there is some lazy MOFO in the next cubicle tell his boss he's not pulling his weight, if it is your boss that's the lazy sob, then tell his boss. In other words if you don't like something, do something about it that will effect change, freedom is a wonderful thing.

If your standard of living is declining do something about it!

Everyone is free to complain BUT if you want to change things complain to those that have the power to effect the change, If you want the gov't to change campaign for change and get others to vote. IF you want the lazy SOB in the next cubicle to pull his/her weight, then complain to them then to there boss. Complain effectively if you want things to change. Not bitching about complaining, I do it all the time, complain to who can effect the change you desire instead of wasting your breathe, become an activist fight for the changes you want.

I have two suggestions for turning this place around.

1 Teach people to live on LESS than they make. It sounds easy but the average american has a negative savings rate.

2 Teach people how compound interest works.
A = P(1+i)^n
That is one of the simple formula's of compound interest. The superscript n is the important part. If you know how to read a graph, you know, like a racepak. And can see what a parobolic curve does "OVER TIME". Then it will take about thirty years and are our standard of living will be untouchable.

Shawn

edit: than n is supposed to be an exponent. It didn't copy and paste through like I hoped.

Remember I said not a draft, but put it into law.

I get a kick out of some post around here, the whole sky is falling, doom, and gloom, man how did we ever make it 231 years the way we live with panic around every corner?

You know I always thought I was the paranoid type, but my goodness.

Vote, or run for office that simple if you want to make and see changes. I guess I was spoiled in the military.

When I was a marskmanship instructor and wanted something changed, I did the paperwork, sent it up the chain, followed up on it, and got it signed off by the old man, and then implemented the change.

If we learn anything out of this, and I doubt we will. We need to learn that cutting back on manpower and our military forces, equipment and requirements to serve, should be recognised as a huge bluder with both parties equally responsible.

Has anyone checked to see what the military strength of that little upstart Islamic Nation Iran has? They are not so small in military might and active military troops.

The US needs to again rebuild our nation's fighting forces and forget cutting them back again for budget ploys. Also every member of the US military from day one needs to be paid above a minimum wage and be financially compensated as they could be if a civillian in he same types of occupations. This has always sucked big time about the US Military until a person achieves a high rank, if ever.

Why have a superior air power if we seldom will use a fraction of the potential of it?

I don't believe you would. How can I put this, hmmmmmm.

Okay see if this works. You have the mandatory 3 year service, you would have people coming out after their time served, and they would spread the word good or bad.

Draft, you have guys that are intentionally trying to get out of service, and nothing you can do about them. yeah they leave denounce their citizenship nothing you can do about it.

Mandatory service they can't denounce their citizenship, it's a reasonable law in my opinion, and you would always have a fresh military.
