i just started running an automatic. and was wanted to know how to check fluid level and would over filling the fluid effect stall rpm.

Check fluid level with the engine running,check in park and also in gear.When reading the dipstick, look at both sides of the stick and assume the lowest reading is correct. Overfilling really won't have much if any affect on stall speed.
