I'm currently running a belt driven water pump with flex fan and an alternator. I'm wondering if switching to an electric pump and fan is worth the money. Has anyone picked up ET after making the swap? The car doesn't run hot and I can't see spending $500+ for the electric pump, fan, alternator mount, crank pulley, etc. if there is no performance increase. Any input is appreciated.

It takes horsepower to drive a fan and pump. It's hard to put a number on it but it should be worth something.

I think it depends on the power level of the car its going on. For me I dropped almost 2 tenths consistantly and gave me around 10-12rwhp. But the big reason why I switched is I can run the pump between rounds to circulate the fluid and cool the car down in a matter of minutes (200* down to 130ish*). I wired up a dummy light to if the pump fails the fuse blows and a light comes on telling the pump just took a crap. -Mark

Thanks for the input guys. 2 tenths sounds reasonable.
The car is powered by a 509ci BBC with a plate system. Runs 9's on motor.

I like the option of running the pump and fans between rounds as well.
