I've re-used one 3 times. Which, I believe is what they say you can re-use one for.
I didn't have a choice as they were back ordered.
Try this. Mopar parts counter. Chrysler makes an MLS gasket sealant for their production MLS gaskets. It's in a spray can, and is yellow in color. It's about 12 bucks and is on the shelf. Comes out like water, and dries to a thick film.
It's good to use when re-using these gaskets. Actually, I'm using it on them new as well.
We at Clevite/Victor/Perfect Circle make lots of MLS gaskets performance and OE..... We do not recomend reusing an MLS gasket and never put a spray coating on them (bad Chris!).... Thats just my .02 from the manufacturing side..... In a pinch I would try it but not for a long term fix......

Well then you better have a chit chat with Chrysler, and a Chit Chat with Cometic!!
There's a lot of things you guys don't recommend but that don't always mean they are valid points.

Keith I haven't had the opportunity to have a Corteco gasket in my hands. What is their coating like?

The coating is like a dried silicon feel ( i guess that is because thats what on it L.O.L.) it's kind of sticky. If you get it in dust or something like that the debris will stick to it....

The comectics have a .001 thick viton rubber coating for cold sealing.Your serfaces have to be dead flat to use so you don,t have water creap. That is water following the cutter marks left by blancherd type grinders. Its is best to have blocks and heads milled by a shop that use CBN type cutters with this type of gasket.
But back to your question like chris said as long as the rubber is not pealed or scraped in any way i would but after 2 times i would not thats just me.
I have seen these gaskets come back on Busch engines that were at 300 deg water and oil and not let go.The engine was so hot that the oil carbonized the block and parts with a blue stain.

That sounds just like this sealant Keith.
For a cometic gasket, I usually take a hard block and some 800-1000 paper and wet sand the cylinder head and or block surface.... if the surface is not proper to begin with. I'm sure I'll get a no-no on that one too but what works, is what works. I don't have head gasket issues.

at work (engine machine shop) we use aluminuim paint. we use it on diesel engines which push probably the most pressure on the head gasket.
just thought i would throw in my 2 cents
thanks
