At what HP/Torque level, do you need to upgrade the gearset?

What gearset would you recommend? (bare the cost in mind as well)

I usually cut them off at 600 hp. Some guys have had luck at much higher HP levels but its a risk. The biggest factor is vehicle weight and cid. I have several planet options but I do not quote here. I can discuss this on the phone or send me an email. They range from 950-1500.00 , each with different options.

I ran a TCI 1.76 'superset' (aftermarket helical gears) at ~800hp, 3200# raceweight, 6000 converter for ATLEAST 300 passes probably closer to 400. Held up fine until I put the ProCharger on it. At 1100hp I got 6 passes then stripped all the teeth off the gear set. Went to straight cuts then. Don't know what the 'superset' costs but it'd probably be cheaper in the long run to just spend a little more and go straight cuts right away. Dunno.

Our biggest problem was input shafts. Just make sure you have a good one.
