I have a 71 Chevelle weighing approx. 3600 pounds. I have a Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing Small Block 427. Right now I have a B&M Holeshot 3000 thats been in my car for over 10 years. I want to upgrade to a high quality converter to help my 60 ft and ET. The cam in this motor is a hydraulic flat tappet 516 525 lift with a duration at .050 of .244 .252 . It has a single plane Intake with a 850 dp Holley . The dyno I got with the engine said it made 520 hp @ 6200 and 495 ft/lbs @ 5000. I run a Turbo 350 with 4.10 gears and a 28" tall tire. On average I run 11.70's @ 114 with a 1.63 60 ft. Let me what you would think on my combination . Is a 8" converter streetable?

Sure you can run an 8" converter on the street but if you intend on doing a lot of street driving, I wouldn't recommend it. A good 9" will be a great converter for your combination. There's a lot more information required but i think that would be a good start.

Ok its a 427 small block, with a 4.125 bore and a 4.00 stroke. Aluminum 220 cc intake runners 2.08 intake 1.60 exhaust . The intake is a World products unit , it looks like a Edelbrock Super Victor. Like I said earlier its a flat tappet hydraulic , 516 525 lift duration@.050 is 244 252. I shift it at 6300 RPM and I am going through the traps around 6500 RPM. Its a 71 Chevelle with stock rear suspension with drag front shocks . It has 1 5/8 headers and I think I might upgrade the Headers with like a 1 7/8 Hooker Super Comps. Its basically a street car I take to the track for grudge nights with my buddies . The odd time I race it at Grand Bend in pro. I am going to try MT ET Street Radials 275/60R-15's. I know what you think about the B&M Holeshots , I just want a high quality converter , everyone I talk to says the converter I am running is slowing me down.
