Hey Guys,

I dont know how much work you guys do on stock stuff (non racing trans'), but I have a 99 Dodge 3/4T truck with the Cummins motor & want to know if there are any updates/upgrades I could do to the trans to make it live longer?

The truck has the RV injectors (30 more HP) & a computer that can add up to 60 more HP (which I turn off when towing), but other than removing the muffler I have not done anything to the truck. the only thing I use the truck for is towing the car & going to Home Depot (I dont race it, or do sled pulling or anything like that).

some folks on the Diesel boards talk about converters & valve body upgrades, but its hard to tell what is neccesary. I dont need to spend money to spend money. but if there are some upgrades I can do, that will make it live longer (other than good PM), I would like to do it.

thanks mucho
Bob

LOL, not an option @ this point. If anything I will sell this POJ & get an old dually with a 454 & a TH400, @ least I can fix them.

I do alot of tranys for H.D. use & towing

For the Dodge trans simple valve-body mods work very well. Superior makes a valve-body kit that works great the only other mod that I do in conjunction with this is a inline resistor for the Governor PSI solenoid so that the increased line PSI can be compensated for without fooling with the computer

The billet cover torque converters are also very nice, but are not nessassary unless you are looking to tow heavier weight or possibly a lowered stall speed.

Hope this helps
