Hey Jason,

Does a higher octane always equate to a slower burn speed?

I'm wondering if adding too much octane (or more than needed anyway) would require more timing advance to achieve a complete burn.

Thanks,
Craig

I would say, it depends on how much more octane you are running than is actually required. Yes, we have tested with many types of fuels and we do see tune up changes in timing, jetting, idle, responsiveness, etc...due to running different fuels, BUT, it is not all in octane, as the specific gravity plays a big role as well. That is why companies like VP make a sepcific feul for each type of application. It is not just in octane.
