Went to the track last Friday night and I noticed that after 6 passes my 60' was about a tenth off on what it usually runs so I think my 3yr old slicks have had it. I use 26x10's M/T ET drags and they are the L8 compound. On M/T website it says L8 is for general use. I know the L4's are softer so I'm thinking about trying them out. Has anyone ever went from the L8 to the L4 compound? Or if you have the L4 compound what are opinions on it? Thanks.

I dont know about L8 or L4 but I found much better launches with my old slicks by overheating them. Nice long smokey 3 gear burn out and I clipped a tenth off the 60ft. compared to a shorter 5-10 sec burn in 1-2 gears. Then again I have terrible suspension on my vehicle so who knows.

I have always believed in a long burn out. If you are at a good track, have a good chassis set up, you can actually do to much of a burnout. With that said, I burn through the starting line every time for fun I . It also buts a lot of stress on the motor, but the funnest part of the race is the burn out.
