How much better is the proflite over other "serious" 3 speeds in N/A small block set-up?

Butch , I have always taken pride in my answers being accurate and based on facts.Other than what you have just stated , what are you basing that information on?
I assume you have compared the best built 3 speed against the proflite with the same ratio's.
Correct me if im wrong.
The advantage to the proflite is that there are so many ratio's available to suit the needs of many class racers NOT that it is neccessarily any faster with the same ratio's used. There just is not that big of a ratio choice for other 3 speeds other than the T350. I would say they are both as fast with the same ratio's used.

Hutch, I agree and disagree with you.....can you build a 3 speed from a 350 or 400 to run with a pro-flite????its possible...What I'm saying is the pro-flite based trans is a proven FAST trans. IMO90%of the fast comp eliminator guys use them and if I had to recommend what to buy, it would be one of them, based on proven on track performance........Not knocking any of your handy work..BK

Butch, my point is if you had a proflite with the exact same ratios available in a T400 (eg 2.1-1.4) and tested them back to back I really don't think you would find much difference if any. The lower the hp/torque levels the more the proflite will shine due to its internal parts diameters. I personally think that the higher the hp levels the difference will be less and reliability will be in question.
Either way the ratio selection that would better suit some cars over what is available for the T400 would make the proflite faster if that is what is required to do so. I know your not knocking my work im just trying to have a constructive debate using fair comparisons.

I helped Tony Bischoff alot back when he ran hot street and we did a back to back swap on a 350 vs a proflite both with gearing that were about the same the proflite was at best .01 maybe .02 faster. Not much et for the price difference.

Roughly 3-5 K . I don't quote prices here and my purpose here is not to generate sales. There is a lot of information required before a price can be determined. Im sure you have my number and are welcome to call to discuss your combination anytime.
