What would I need to do to prep a helmet for paint? Can I just scuff the gel coat with 220 maybe and prime it with regular auto primer? Do I need to use any additives in the base or clear (flex agents, etc) for fiberglass? Anything else I need to do special? I've done several small things on sheetmetal just never any fiberglass.
Thanks!

SCUFF THE JELL COAT WITH 320 OR FINER LESS SAND SCRATCHES OR RED SCOTCH BRITE
NO NEED FOR ADDITIVES
NOTHING SPECIAL
JUST YOUR IMAGINATION ON THE HELMET

Please dont forget, the paint on your helmet now is fire resistant, the paint you will add will be fuel for a fire.......
Not that I dont plan on painting my new helmet, because I will..........I guess it's just a chance we take..............
