Any tips for painting the bars in my car? I currently have them all in primer and ready to be sprayed. Some of them have the old paint on them, so I just scuffed it a little with a scotchbrite and they should be ready right?

I am borrowing a gun and this is my first time painting, so any tips will be appreciated. I can no longer wait on my painter.... he is holding me up because he is lazy.

Also, what type of paint would you suggest? The first one we put on there was an acrylic with the clear already in it.... one stage? Does that sound right? Whatever it was, it scratched really easily. Is there a more durable paint?

single stage paint is fine
light coats
let it dry between
dust the paint in the hard to reach areas first then you dont have to worry about getting to them after your shooting the most obviuos places
TAKE YOUR TIME!

We just redid our bars with a spray can. The other paint will chip real bad. At least with the spray can you can touch it up a lot easier.
