Yes they did the same thing back in 2004. You all just did not pay as much attention then as you do now.

Your right Gunny, and another one is on the way. If the insurgents pull another one off, the troop surge will be viewed and touted as not working by the anti-war crowd.

The troop surge will be viewed and touted as not working if the war continues to go on and on and on, and for no other reason. The results of any given battle are less important than the results of the war in general. Gunny talks about the success of the battle in Falajuh, which is all well and good, but what has the win in Falajuh accomplished for the war in Iraq? Nothing.

There you go George tearing down the military more. The battle in Fallujah should have set an example for the others to follow if they would follow it.
George why don't you just admit it, you are sorry you missed the ultimate test of combat while you were in the Army. You missed the great question wondering if you were better than the other guy on that day, wondering if your training really worked.
Those questions will follow you for the rest of your life, so what do you do in the meantime, you tear down every success the military has with more of your use-less dribble. I am going to buy you a bib so you don't soak the front of your shirt.

I love it when a guy bitches that the war is going on too long and
also can't understand ( won't admit ) that the Fallujah offensive was the single most effective operation of the war and should and will be a model for the future.
All the typical liberal handwringing about the massive casualties we would take
before the operation followed by likeminded defeatism about the results afterward. We need a similar operation in Sadr City, and then anywhere alse
the enemy masses.
If our pussy press weren't allowed in we could go in and finish this damn thing.

You guys are a laugh a minute. You want to blame the pussy press instead of the pussy president. He says that "he's the decider". I haven't seen the editor of the NY Times make that statement.

Misleading article George. Military has a higher standard than the civilian world. You get DUI in the civilian world you go to rehab and do community service. You get a DUI in the military, loss of rank, loss of money, possible jail time, and possible discharge from the military.
You smoke a joint in the civilian work place rehab, you pop on a urinalysis in the military for drugs you are going to the brig first and then getting a Bad Conduct discharge.
