Gotta have a vacuum pump on a nitrous motor IMO. There is a ton of blowby on a nitrous motor where there will be positive pressure in the crankcase. Moroso is the brand I use and have never had a problem with it after 4 years. Its a 4 vane pump and pulls around 16 inch of vacuum w/o a relief valve. I regulate it to 12 inchs max.

Monty,

Do you have a wet sump system? I heard the 4 vane was for dry sumps. Also Does anyone have a kit and adapters for people who want to keep a stock crank pulley?

Where is the best place to buy a moroso pump kit?

I used a Millings internal pump, Titan internal pump and and external wet pump and always used the Moroso 4 vane pump. I would try Jegs or Summit for the best pricing.

We talked to the guys at moroso and they even said they are running 4 vanes on both wet and dry sumps, they just recommend if your going to run a dry sump go with the 4 vane for sure...........

what is the advantage of it? My understanding is that you can gain from 5 to 35 HP from putting a Vac pump on a motor. But for the $1000 it cost's for a complete setup, I can think of a LOT better places to spend $1000, for >35 HP gains (Like converter). However, if it helps to keep the motor in one piece or extends life or other non-HP gains, then it might also be worth the investment.

thanks guys
Bob

I could care less about the 35 HP gain.. I dont think its that much but anyway who cares.. I like the fact it helps keep oil out of the chamber. Oil and nitrous means 8 new piston, rods and crank... :-D
