Here's a topic for discussion; best 400 SBC based, 4.155 bore combo between 394 to 420 cubic inches with at least 14.1+ CR.

Parameters: 2800 lbs, PG, 4.86 gear, 18* (2.200/1.625) CNC 266cc heads, 32x14 tire, 4-link, Dom carb

Okay,

Before we go any further we need to know what the goals of this engine are. Bracket racing, heads up racing, street duty??? Then we need to know budget, what kind of parts will be in this thing in terms of quality and durability?

After that we can get into details of the combination.
