OK, so now i went to E-town like always with the fast car and I'm hit with rules I didn't see again. I was told i have to keep it over 9.99 because i dont have a 5 layer suit, now i dont run any power adders and I recall the rule being 9.99-7.50 no power adder requires 3.2a1 clothing. did I miss this new rule? also, like always i asked well who needs to wear a 1 layer then? and the response was good enough to make me laugh at the tech guy, now everyone going faster than 13.99 needs a suit lol and of course the full face helmet with shield. Whats going on here? is it just me?

it also depends on mph.over 135 you need3.2a/5,if tranny in car you need it.
and even if it's not a rule. the track has final say,as to what they want.it is their sandbox:rolleyes:

I'm sure that you have the 2009 NHRA Rulebook in your back pocket. What does it say about all of this?

well i looked it up, and i wrote what it says. but like i said, the rulebook is not the final say.esp at etown,or any other track it is just what NHRA wants. if the track wants something else, its the prerogative.they are the one's who pay the insurance bills.they can always ask for more

like always I'm big on safety rules, and I'm all for tracks adding things to be safe but I'm a regular there as i have been for 20 years and I just dont think that every week they should add a new rule for the hell of it. how am I or any other racer suppose to race if noone knows what the new rule for the week will be? George, ill give you that, I need to carry one around and I am guilty of just speed reading the book lol but i do also check for the changes and updates on occasion, and when things like this pop up I look to some of you for a quick answer.

When I was in the Army, I knew a guy that was in the BDU (bomb disposal unit). He told me once (with a twinkle in his eye) that he only skimmed over his rule book too.
I went to his memorial service. They didn't have a formal funeral 'cause they couldn't find enough of him to bury.
