Looking at building an iron block s1 w/ 88mm turbo. Stock fully ported heads, eagle rods, 9 to1 comp., stock crank, blow through carb how much horsepower at 16psi do you think it would make.
I'm use to running a BBC w/ nitrous and want to stepup but not sure what way I want to go.
Thanks.

Should make 1000 hp at 16 lbs or so...but why stop there?

Thanks for the reply. I know 1000 just isn't enough anymore. LOL.

I just meant why stop at 16 lbs specifically lol...on the dyno, I ran just under 17 peak or something like that and it made 750 at the tires at 7k rpm's on a mustang dyno (shifted around 8k at the track but it was just getting a base tune in it at the time).
On 21 lbs, we went 8.78 at 161 on a 1.358 60 ft at 3400 lbs on 28 inch et streets and stock suspension. 5.70 at 128 to the 1/8th. That was only the 2nd pass on the new spot-on tune too so it probably would have gone faster...that was stock cube, stock crank, stock ls1 block, stock ls1 heads ported/polished (which are now for sale for $1200 by the way!) with a little solid roller and boost...definitly a mid to low 8-second setup on kill but we had an oiling problem (8000+ rpm's and stock oiling wasn't the best idea). We managed to get 75+ passes out of it after trying to kill it while trouble-shooting a crank signal problem...free-revving to 7k 100 times or so all bad!

LT, that's what I wanted to hear. I talk to a few people I got all kinds of answers. Like, the stock heads and crank won't handle more than 18psi of boost. Their only good up to 750hp. The only way it would go 8's is if the car was 2600lbs. So thanks a lot for info. I am still weighting what way to go. Thanks again.

Yeh I heard the same stuff while mine was out there running lol...those who can't do try to prevent others from trying...hell all I did was buy stuff that already worked and threw it together...good luck and if you need anything easy answered just drop me a line...the hard stuff I know who you can go to in order to get the answer though! That was the most important thing I learned probably...who to go to and who not to!

I have got a great 6.0 iron block with bushed lifter bores and billet main caps if you are interested. I have a couple sets of rods and a nitraded stock crank as well. Hell, I even have GMPP carb style manifold. Let me know if you need anything!

I am running a GT47-88 and made 867rwhp with an 8:1 348ci and an air/air intercooler. I'm guessing that's 1050-1100 at the crank. I am runnin a stock crank.
