I had herd a bit ago that tech was requiring the blow down tubes on nitrous bottles to be hard line.
I have a nitrous bottle in the trunk compartment already fitted with the blow down nut and I would like to use an AN line off the bottle to a bulkhead fitting mounted thru the tin work. Will this pass tech or does the blow down tube infact need to be hard line?
I was thinking since it was in a trunk space the An line would be fine.
thanks

Not trying to hijack your post here Kev, but I thought that if it was not in the passenger compartment & you had a bulkhead between the bottle & driver that you dont need a blowdown tube @ all. I have not got hit up @ tech for it this year, & its in the trunk w/o one.

Mine are in the passenger seat with AN lines going to a bulkhead in the floor. I 've never had a problem with tech.
And yes if the bottles are in the trunk with a bulkhead you shouldn't need anything at all

I use a #10 line on mine that is in the trunk and tech never complains.

ok cool cool. yeah I know a blow off cap would be legal but I have two bottles already fitted with the blow down fitting so I figured might as well just run a blow down "line".
as for the hat....lol yeah my website holds a huge BBQ every year so I was selling 50/50 tickets and using the hat to get people's attention... its a pretty funny picture.
as always thanks for the info guys. One day I'll be able to thank you personally at the track....when we get there

Dope a -8an 180deg. fitting for the blow down tube wont fit....clearence issue, so.......
last night I picked up a NHRA saftey blow off cap, you know blue dispersing cap with the little saftey cord.

Now I am running in the bottle a bulkheaded trunk, so a "blow off cap" is legal.
From my understanding the bottle pressure relif that comes "stock" on all new nitrous bottles will not pass tech, but this NHRA saftey blow off cap will pass tech as long as it is in a bulkheaded trunk.
so my question is what the heck is the difference between the "stock" pressure relief fitting and this "blow off cap"?????? other then my $25.
both fittings disperse n2o gases out of the bottle in the same fashion.
am I on crack and wasted money where the stock fitting will work? why is this fitting legal compared to the stock one?
