Chris I know we have talked a little bit about intakes for my new motor. What about a sheet metal intake? I have seen several that are pretty reasonable. Are they better or worse then a 18 degree victor fully ported?

Your thoughts?

It is going to be a while before anything is done on my engine. I am taking an extended break and don't know when I am going to start on it again.

Martin, knowing your camshaft, rpm range, and general stats on your car I wouldn't recommend a sheetmetal intake. It's all about the combination, not what is better or worse than the ported victor. The ported victor suits your combination much better than the sheetmetal deal.

There's a lot of used sheetmetal intakes out there but there is a lot of variables in their construction like runner length, runner taper, runner angle, plenum size, etc.... they are all built for a specific combination.

Thanks Chris. That is why I asked.
