Intake elbow

[heads up]

I have a question on intake elbows. Were swichting from carb n2o to EFI procharger combo. I have a 98 stock suspension camaro w/380 sbc running f2 or f3 still in planning stages but we dont have a lot of room under hood for the elbow to point towards firewall will a sideways elbow work? I was told there would be air distribution problems from the side he suggest front to back w/spacer rather than from side. Also is there any performance difference in what type cast alum, billet, or sheetmetal. Our HP goal should be around 1400 to 1600 if that makes a difference and any info would help thanks in advance.
