One need not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier to be a good leader but only to have sense enough to recognize talent and surround yourself with it!

I have proved that several times from both sides in my own career path. Have worked for and been supported by the best on many projects.

Look at me  ....I just surround myself with good people :P

The problem is that W isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and he's surrounded himself mostly with like-minded individuals. Take a look at the people that founded this country. They were intelligent men, deep thinkers, and talented in many areas. Men like that wouldn't involve themselves in government anymore because of the mess that it has become.

Term limits are a start. The whole idea was for people to serve their countries, not make a living at it pocketing special interest money after getting bored ripping people off as a lawyer. People used to leave the farm, go to Washington for a few years, and then come home.

I agree except that the political process has run off the really good "partimer" candidates. Problem with it is that campaigns have become so dirty and expensive that we would run out of the decent leftovers in a couple of elections. That has already happened here locally. We had to go to the east coast and recruit somebody to run against Barack Obama for a congressional seat last year! What a shame!

Native Americans lived here first. They didn't found much of anything and sold a lot of it to the Europeans for some whiskey. Almost every native American civilization that settled down and practiced "nation building" had been gone for many years at that point, the last being the Incas in South America. If the Indians had joined together and fought the white man as he landed then they might still be here, instead of relegated to some pathetic reservation in the desert. It's a damn shame what we did to them. If we weren't shooting 'em then we killed 'em with European diseases.

Biggs, don't be editing my posts.

Back to the post... FOX News.. Possible one of the worst news channels around. They are responsible for the hype in news.. Their coverage on murders increased by 600% while crime in the US dropped 20%. These guys try to relate every aspect of a threat to your everyday lives..

They report and I decide!! I decide all of it is bullshit!!!

I find it incredible that "conservatives" call CNN the Communist News Network while ignoring the ludicrously one sided reporting on FOX. I can't hardly stand to watch it because it's so blatantly one sided. Pathetic. NPR is actually better balanced than FOX ever thought about being.

If you think NPR is balanced I'm glad you don't like FOX......if you watched it you would see they are the ONLY NEWS Channel with the same amount of Commontators on each side

I've watched plenty of FOX, listened to hours and hours of Limbaugh and Hannity, and several others in the genre. It's the same ol' regurgitated crap. I usually listen to Rush until he spits out something just totally ridiculous. It's very obvious that he's completely out of touch with normal people. Hannity just repeats the SOS that Rush puked earlier in the day. FOX just spews out Bush's crap.

As for your last sentence, the news is supposed to be NEUTRAL, not show both sides. That's not news. NPR and CNN for the most part do exactly that.

Mike, why can't more people have their head outta their ass like you? I think we trust our government too much.. So much that we will believe the news when they agree with the President... Isn't it the right that say we need less governement in our life? Why do they always give up more government?

I have a friend that I have lifted weights with on and off for almost 20 years now. He's a great guy, a devout Christian, wouldn't raise his voice to anyone or hurt a fly... just about my exact opposite. When Bush first started talking about invading Iraq, we had a similar discussion and he honestly thinks that Bush knows what he's doing and that God is watching over the process. He has no distrust of the government or the corporation for that matter. I think that most people want to think that way. They don't want to have to worry about another part of their life. They trust the system to work somewhat decently.

I'm a natural born skeptic myself. I don't assume that anyone has my best interests at heart and I don't believe that the founders of this country did either otherwise they wouldn't have built in the systems of checks and balances that are in place. They never intended for government to be the monster that it is... the feds at least.
