Who makes the best performing and not obnoxiously loud catback system for a 2000 Trans Am.

I like GMMG. More expensive than most others but sounds the best. Buddy has it on his 2001 ws6 with Kooks headers and it's nice! Quiet at idle and gets audible under throttle. Perfect for a streeter imho.

There's a lot of varying opinions. It really depends on the mods to the car and how quiet or loud you want it. Personally, I had a Corsa exhaust which bar none is the best looking exhaust for a TA. It is quiet on a stock car, slightly louder than stock but works really well.
Other choices, GMMG has a pretty big following. Borla and a few others too. Do you have any mods on the car already? If so, those will have a large impact on the overall sound when combined with the exhaust. As an example my relatively stock sounding Corsa sounded like a Pro Stock car after a head and cam swap. The cam wasn't even terribly large by today's standards either.

Being that we're on the subject already? I was hoping you guys would know if someone makes a header for a malibu that has a ls-1 swapped into it??? I've only heard of headers being made for early camaro/firebirds (67-69), and I have seen the site for the guy who has done this swap in stages for a g-body monte carlo SS, in which stage two included a set of custom made $1,300.00 headers! I'm hoping maybe if I get the early camaro/firebird headers, I can just reconfigure a tube or two to make them work???? what are your thoughts?

I love my Borla, it's quiet when you want it to be and loud as hell when it's uncapped. (Borla has a built in cutout.)

How about a recommendation for long tube headers to go with a cat-back.Same car, 2000 TA.

Kooks and QTP both make a good header for the F-Body. LG Motorsports makes a great header for the Vette.
