Thanks........

Your very welcome. Glad I could be of some help to ya.

Most of the stuff I have read about them on LS1tech seems that most think they are cheezy. I was considering fabricating a front cam drive dist. from MSD's universal kit when I was gonna do a LS engine with a carb.

I'm debating the pro's and con's of running the GM timing cover/ford dist. vs. the MSD box that uses the crank and cam sensor's and no dist.

The coil on plug stuff works pretty good. You can't go wrong either way. It's just up to whether or not you want to put the money into the coils and MSD box or the distributor setup. For our stuff we haven't had one that we've needed to switch over to a distributor for any reason. So both are just as reliable. It's mostly a comfort / cost choice.

I guess I need to look at my MSD catalog a little closer. Do they offer a distributorless setup for the LS engines using carbs? Last I saw was simple box for the conversion but nothing that would work with a digital 7 box. That could change my plans for the better! Thanks.

Yeh they have a box that uses the stock cam/crank signals for carb stuff...as far as being compatible with a digital 7 I do not know but I know it allows you to adjust timing and what not via a laptop. Believe it's made so you can use the stock coil-pack stuff with a carb setup.

There's a Digital 7 setup I believe that does everything and doesn't require the MSD box as well. Sort of the competitive version to Big Stuff 3.

Thanks guys! I'll have to do alittle more research and maybe I will go ahead with the LS build for my car.

I have the MSD 6010 box that you are talking about , and its for sale. I would take $190 shipped for it.
