Im running a data logger on my set up monitoring nitrous fuel pressure and it appears there is some fluctuation. Im setting the fuel pressure at 6.5 lbs. with my flow tool with the engine running at 2000 RPM and the pressure is very consistant and stable every time I check it, no problems there.

But when I make a nitrous pass at the racetrack Im getting some fluctuation as I go down the track. Im not talking about the dip/rise that is common to see right when the solenoids open, Im referring to what happens after that....

Basically whats happening is the solenoids open, the pressure drops, rises, drops for about .5 of a second then gets stable at 7 lbs. and slowly drops down to 6.5 lbs over 3.5-4 seconds. 6.5 is what Id like to see all the way down the track.

Is anybody else having this problem and is there anything I can do to get the pressure at 6.5 lbs. all the way down the track?

Would bypassing more fuel at my airbleeds just before the solenoids help?

Thanks.

Chris.

I have a feeling someone is going to ask about voltage so here is what Im seeing for voltage on a run.

Im running an alternator and at idle it shows 12.7 volts, when I stand on the gas it jumps to 15.3 volts and stays there till the solenoids open, then it drops to 12.7 and fades to 12.3 until the solenoids close then straight back to 15.3.

The solenoids definatly draw pretty hard but thats normal isnt it? I dont think voltage is the problem, I personally think its the regulator taking its sweet time to get to 6.5 lbs.

I see Holley makes a holley blue reg. with a bypass, maybe try that? Or maybe put my own bypass into my holley blue?;)

Thanks.

Maybe drop a 16V battery in it?

Lack of voltage is killing your fuel pump's flow rates -- no matter who's pump. Might also want to look at the pump to make sure its big enough for your combination

Is 12.3 volts lacking voltage?

If the pumps are suffering from low voltage wouldnt i be seeing low pressure?

Im seeing too much pressure when the regulator recovers from the dip/rise deal and its taking way to long to recover to my desired fuel pressure (4 seconds) but after the 4 seconds its stays at my desired psi.
