Got a 87 mustang lx with stock rear axle length and wheel wells, running a 28x11.50 et street on 8in. rim. want to switch to 28x10.5 et drag on a ten inch rim. what backspace to use and how much work is needed on inner wheel well and fender lip?should i run a 27x10 m&h racemaster slick for less carnage to car? thanks

You'll want a 6.5" backspacing with a 10" wheel. With a 28x10.5 it will take a decent amount of work with the hammer to make it fit. Some people run a 5/16" spacer with this wheel and it will save some of the hammering, but will still require some. You could also run a 28x12.50 et street, which will be almost the same size as the 28x10.5 et drag.
