I am curious about the best way to do a plate 2 stage.
I am wanting to do first stage at say 200 and add another 100 on second stage.
Can I leave the first stage on and add 2nd stage through y fitting and second set of solenoids?
I see most kits turn first stage off as second is activated but it seems it may be smoother and just adding more.
Thanks in advance and I hope I explained this ok.

StarFire, my 2 stage, Big Shot plate seems a little different than what your doing.
1st - there is a "Y" fitting in both sides of the plate, 1 line to each stage. You can "y" of the Nitrous supply line and the fuel supply line. There is other things line fuel return line and size of "pill", but not on this post.
2nd - Do don't need to turn off anything. I don't really understand why you would leave on BIG hit and bring in the second "down the road". BUT if you think your engine combo can handle a certain amount of Nitrous, say 300, break it into 2 steps, like the 200 & 100. That will give you the total of 300. IF you were to shut of the first stage like you said, the car would feel like it's "laying over" when the second stage comes on.
Hope this helps. John:cool:

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I should have been clearer. Sorry I was trying to post while boss was around. LOL
Yes the y fittings are in the plate for fuel and nitrous jets.
The instructions show first stage activating off micro switch and second stage on a button, which deactivates the first stage. Didnt like that idea.
I was hoping I could just leave the first stage on and combine 2nd stage along with that for the total shot down track.

I dont normaly post on here but, I am very bored at work right now. I am almost sure that if you check around with some people. You never want to shut one off and turn another on. Something to do with sometimes when the second kit turns on after shutting the first off. You can end up with a big bang. I think it may have been monty posting that on here somewhere.

Now my next question would be how to jet or figure jetting for second stage.
Here is what I came up with.
If first stage is jetted at NOS 150 shot 63/71 in order to get 250 total with second stage the jets for second stage would need to be 30/31.
Does this sound right?
Is there a good way to figure what I need to add?
Sorry if these are newbie questions but I am new to 2 stages.

To tell ya the truth I am not real sure on the jetting and timing settings. I will look at some of the past post in the section from awhile ago. I know at one point this was talked about, just not really sure when.
I have also yet to run two stages but, was looking into it last winter.

Guys, it was a saying from the early 90's. I know what a Starfire is, as Bill Trovato run one in NSCA L/S and OSCA EZ Street. It the Olds version of a Monza.

Go to the NITROUS area and you'll most likely find what your looking for there. Mike C. is vary good with this and helping with question. I know for sure he'll tell you start low and work up to where you want to be. The NOS if that's the system are usually pretty safe from what he says. Hope that helps. John:cool:

Follow this link and use the spreadsheet to better understand total area when using to stages.

I would not recommend turning one stage off and the other on. This is the equivalent of lifting and getting back into it.
